Anti Evolutionists Are Changing Tactics

At the risk of being accused of scare mongering I wanted to bring to your attention the latest creationist ruse. Although this is some what old news, the New York Times has an article on the expanding agenda by anti evolutionists to link global warming and human cloning with the teaching of evolution.  The linkage of evolution and global warming is partly a legal strategy: courts have found that singling out evolution for criticism in public schools is a violation of the separation of church and state. By insisting that global warming also be debated, deniers of evolution can argue that they are simply championing academic freedom in general.

We all need to remain alert to these changing tactics and be ready to address them should any attempt be made to water down our own standards in Florida.

Given this has been a problem for them since the early 80’s, I’m stunned it’s taken them this long to start addressing it.

This is so hypocritical. Using an instance of scientific misconduct or ethically questionable scientific technique to demonize a legitimate science. Following the creationist reasoning, is it not also fair that we should critically evaluate the usefulness and legitimacy of the entire Christian religion in light of the various scandals and crimes committed in the name of Christianity?

I used to bet with creationists that I could name more examples of creationist fraudulent evidence than they could name evolutionist frauds. I never failed. Of course, the major difference is that the “evolutionist frauds” were caught by scientists, and the creationists frauds… were also.

For those of us who live in Florida “global warming” seems a little hard to swallow at the monent (sic) However the cold weather in Florida is just that /weather, not climate change Let’s stop referring to it as global warming. It sounds catchy, but it’s ultimately only telling part of the story.
The media are much to blame for the bad information they put out to people, just as they are when it comes to the facts about Evolution and Creationism.
