6th grader Kurt Shuster says he thinks Mr. Mackenzie is pretty cool.

“He makes me feel like I am special because he comes up with these names for me, like the Shuster-nator or something really funny that I would like to hear.”

“There were a lot of hands on gooey things,” Tom Brugos said.

Brugos, 39, is working on the idea of a science lab this summer for elementary students across the county.

“It just gives them a chance to explore their love for science and do experiments we don’t have time to do in class,” Brugos said. “Whenever you do hands-on experiments, it is more than reading it in a book. If you recall, you tend to remember the demonstrations from school more than the articles you read.”
