A press release issued today from the governor’s office says that Roberto Martinez has been reappointed to the state board of education. Good news. Martinez was a refreshing voice of reason on the board when the new science standards, which included evolution as a “big idea,” were up for approval last year. Congratulations to Martinez!

Great news!
I agree, Martinez really fought hard for the science standards and made the rest of the school board squirm with his solid knowledge of evolution.
I called his office and thanked him personally.
Let’s hope he holds the line distinguishing objective measurement with woo. It can be hard to do when you are trying to spin lousy scores into a march toward success that would validate the lousy research underlying much of the messing about.
